Using slow camera movement in 20 minutes in five video scenes of completely CGI-rendered environment called Area of Universal Latency, I am mapping space-time of the zone which is located in the north-western Slovakia. Minimalistic narration of the autonomous single-channel video projection is confronting subjectivism with universality of the Anthropocene, vanitas and spirituality with the belief of consumerism in infinite accumulation and simulacra of virtuality with the absolute truth. The story of this video-poem is communicated through virtual environment, composed sounds and natural noises. This thesis is presenting a fragment of my attempt to record the morphology of the specific place through which, as the title of the video states, I am indicating the state of reality and its consequences yet not describing it explicitly.

Time

Directions, where my practical part of thesis lead me, is preset moment "now", its understanding in different disciplines and also empiric examination of collision between the time of inside quality and time, which has set independent scale into our world - chronological time. Motive for choosing such topic is mainly my own experience, but it is also reaction to contemporary tendencies in art scene, which (by my opinion) are turning away from present. The outcome of this interest is a video Uchopit okamžik/hold the moment ( 08'30 '' , 2016) filmed at studio keying screen accompanied by audio commentary. The second video Natáhnout okamžik/extend the moment ( 01'00 '', 2016) is a video recording of my own experience with time. I came out from my own experience and also resources and nonfiction of the phenomenological texts by authors such as Emmanuel Lévians or Jan Sokol.

Everything's Gonna Be Alright

My diploma thesis follows the unfinished EGBA cycle, which started in late October 2016. The name EGBA is the result of the uncertainty, anxiety and loss of trust in man as a healthy individual. I see the EGBA project as a candy with a filling, the content of which is composed of taste that influences one another. Even though it's a great advertisement, the great packaging itself looks great, the candy itself is inedible. The first of the mixed tastes is the term postcapitalism, as a constantly persistent system of capitalism, which, despite all possible peripetions, can not and does not overcome. Despite the growing interconnection of influential entrepreneurs with the state apparatus into the incomprehensible web of ties and relationships associated with deepening financial inequality among people, high indebtedness of countries, degrading environment, etc. The second taste is the temporality in which I am the primary acceleration as an alleged tool of progress. Accelerating is a long-term process that comes with modern times as a result of the Industrial Revolution. Today's time brings us a freneticly fragmented reality in which we try to squeeze as many acts or performances as possible into shorter time intervals. Speed has become a sign of success, so it's no surprise that many of us end up on the pill of hope as it is clear that our biorhythm can not be stretched indefinitely. The current, accelerated society can be likened to a swamp. The faster it rotates its gear, the faster it sinks in the liquid period. The third taste is posthumanism, which we have achieved by constantly simplifying and reducing the problems that nature poses before us. This relief has led us to create a machine that is so effective in reducing it, that it also creates its own problems. Technology keeps coming close to us, constantly evolving new technological advances that are increasingly "more sophisticated, useful and smarter". The inconspicuous disappearance of human nature gradually transforms into the form of Thésa's ship. The fourth taste is anthropocene. The theme of anthropocene circulated most of the news channels. Yes, it is serious and undeniable, although in many conspiracy theories it is completely misunderstood, for example, the blue, not the green palette, Donald's tricks, etc. In short, a long-term game of chess, man versus nature seems to be more advantageous for blacks. The last ingredient is a binder named Internet, like saliva flowing through all of these tastes. All of these candy essences are frustrating for me, and the best solution to me was the theme of apocalypse in my previous work. Dystopic thinking, however, does not last long and I have begun to overflow the hopes of hope that it could all have some positive effect. So if I come somewhere to see a bowl of candy, I will not hesitate and taste it. Most of these are places where it is necessary to wait, to withstand, or to buy something, so I will enjoy plenty of time and quiet to enjoy the tastes of candy and wait for the rainbow.

Migration, Gender, Class, and Temporality: The Case of Female Labour Migrants from Philippines.

The diploma thesis deals with the experiences of women from the Philippines who work in the Czech Republic in the manufacturing sector. The author performs an intersec}onal analysis across themes of gender, class, and migra}on. The objec}ves of this theses are to analyze of the impact of a par}cular type of temporary employment (residence status and working condi}ons) on the social life of the migrants, as well as a renec}on on the efects of the temporary labor migra}on on the prac}ce of transna}onal family rela}onships. Qualita}ve research is conducted using the method of semi-structured interviews with migrant women from the Philippines, along with other stakeholders from employment agencies, state administra}on, and non-proot organiza}ons. The Concept of Temporality in The Work of Ladislav Hejdánek

This thesis is focused on the explanation and critical analysis of the concept of temporality in the work of Ladislav Hejdánek. The theme of temporality is a key motive for Hejdánek's thinking. The whole concept is characterized by a combination of philosophical and theological ideas that create a provocative attempt at a unique philosophical system. The meaning of the concept lies in the processual understanding of the subject as an event. Each subject has its own unique form of time, which is expressed by the connection of the object and "the non-objectivness" (in terms of time). According to Hejdánek, the emphasis on processuality and the temporal nature of the subject really captures the true essence of life and the world. Unlike purely objective thinking, which hypostasizes everything alive into timeless thought constructs. The first chapter of the dissertation is focused on summarizing and introducing the concept of the subject. A summary of the important features of the process understanding of the subject allows an explanation of the main topic. The second chapter focuses on the interpretation of temporality. The different perceptions of time are first explained by the dichotomy of myth and faith. This dichotomy then reveals the reasons for the need to replace the principle of causality....

Contexts of emergence of freedom in the philosophy of Jean Paul Sartre

The goal of this thesis is to map Jean Paul Sartre's ontological inquiry into the concept of freedom. We will view Sartre as an influential modern ontologist. Therefore the concept of freedom will be apprehend within the framework of inquiry into the being of things, which in this perspective means the human being. The intelectual productivity of Sartre during the 1930s and 1940s finds its original ontological base for exploring the modes of being of human existence mainly within the perspective of Husserl's Phenomenology. That is true at least for his most influential work from this period called Being and nothigness (1943). This phenomenological basis of Sartre's inquiry are changing in the following decades towards the social ontology that originally connects his former existentialism with marxism viewed through fresh and original perspectives. This kind of ontology obtains its most coherent form in Sartre's extensive work called The Critique of Dialectical Reason (1960). Finally, we consider as necessary to reflect Sartre's work through the perspective of following generation of french philosophical thinking influenced mainly by structuralism. The Function of Speech in Husserl and Merleau-Ponty

The Function of Speech in Husserl and Merleau-Ponty The submitted doctoral thesis is an attempt to describe the development of the intentional function of speech in Husserl and Merleau-Ponty. The intentional function is defined as the change of expressed meaning that is engendered by the expression itself. We trace Husserl's position from the Logical Investigations and the first book of his Ideas pertaining to a pure phenomenology and to a phenomenological philosophy, where he describes speech as the non- productive mirroring of other kinds of intentionality, to the late text The Origin of Geometry, where he discerns two functions of speech: it provides thought its ideality, which is different from the ideality of species; and it provides thought its objectivity, i.e. the form of object that lasts in history as identical. In The Phenomenology of Perception, Merleau-Ponty adopts Husserl's late position with several profound modifications. The starting-point ceases to be the linguistic sign, and speech becomes a kind of gesture. As a consequence, the difference between linguistic and non-linguistic ideality disappears. To the problem of time

The thesis "To the problem of time" considers concepts of understanding of the problem of time and temporality on selected authors throughout history. It was revealed in the work that even Aristotle had some notion of temporality, and not only his time counted within movement. However this notion is fragmental thus it required a more complex explanation of his viewpoints. Augustine's switch of perspective brought deeper understanding of human temporality within the connection of the soul to the transcendental God. Further development of this idea made Husserl's analysis of time-consciousness and after him Heidegger, who developed Husserl's concept and founded his own concept on the authenticity based on the consciousness of individual being's irreversible finiteness. Similarly, the concepts of Bergson and Sartre developed the idea of time consciousness, though they differed on some stresses, e.g. the importance of the future. Peirce's position, brought into discussion, showed some similar features despite the different origins to the concept of Husserl's. The cross-section of science and philosophy exposed in Whitehead's concept pointed out the introduction of an observer into the scientific understanding of time and thus denial of the "absolute time" on behalf of dynamicity of the continual...

Pragmatic and stylistic aspects of expressions of futurality in professional economic text and their didactic consequences

The dissertation surveys the use of expressions of futurality in professional economic texts (the linguistic part). In addition, it investigates didactic aspects of futurality in the process of English as a second language acquisition, focusing on undergraduates in the study programme B 6208 - Economy and Management (the didactic part). The topic was chosen on the basis of the author's empirical experience and the results of pre-tests in the target group. The research is based on a corpus-based linguistic study. Seven representative monographs written by native speakers were selected as a source of relevant information about the use of futural constructions in a written economic text. All the sources were explored by means of corpus query software and instances of selected futural constructions (will, shall, be going to, be about to, be on the point of, be (due) to and the present tense) were excerpted. Functions of the futural constructions were elaborted on the basis of the numerous excerpts and confronted with English for specific (economic) purpose textbooks that are used widely at Czech economic universities. "The wealth of nothingness" - On the (im)possibility of metaphysics in Adorno and Beckett

English abstract: "The wealth of nothingness - On the (im)possibility of metaphysics in Adorno and Beckett": The subject of this paper is Theodor W. Adorno's reception of Samuel Beckett and its embedding in his philosophy. Based on an interpretation of Adorno's treatment of the problem of temporality, it is shown that for Adorno Beckett's work both marks the end of time in a bad infinity and at the same time prepares the turn into a fulfilled time. As the opening of a quasi- utopian temporality, it is argued that the engagement with Beckett represents for Adorno as much as the rescue of the possibility of metaphysics and critical theory through its impossibility, moving in the semantics of gift, promise, and gratitude.
